Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City

Good to know:
Once the plane has landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you must be very excited to get to your hotel but beware of which taxi company to hire before you hop in. There have been so many cases of tourists being riped off because they took some private taxis that costs them an arm and a leg and even threatened to assault them when they refused to pay. Note: Taxis are unregulated in Vietnam.
Tip: After you exit from the custom, immediately turn right and go to the far end corner, there is a Vinasun or Mailinh counter to book your taxi to your destination. It costs a little more but it's a lot safer than to take the chance outside the airport since this is your first time in the city.  I suggest that you pay attention to the taxi color, logo, telephone number and even the driver's uniform, you will find so many look-alike taxis on the street but they are of different companies. Like what the Vietnamese always say: "same but not the same!".

Germany - Oktoberfest in Munich

Good to know:
Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It is Munich's famous beer festival and is one of the largest festivals in the world. No reservation required and it's free to enter any beer tent so long it is not overfilled with people. Happy beer tent hopping!
Tip: The Schottenhamel tent is the place to be, if you want to catch the official opening ceremonies on the first day. At noontime, 12pm, the lord mayor of Munich will have the honor of tapping the first keg of Oktoberfest beer. Once the barrel has been tapped, all visitors will then be allowed to quench their thirst. It pays to arrive early in order to experience the festivities up close and personal and it's quite common for visitors to come around 9am to secure good seats.
